Privacy policy¶

This policy explains what personal data is processed when you visit tenax.run (the website and its documentation) and when you use the Tenax software. The controller of that data is The Republic IT International de Mexico, S. de R.L. de C.V. ("The Republic", "we").
The short version¶
- The Tenax software runs entirely in your own infrastructure. It sends no telemetry, usage data or crash reports to us or anyone else, and your backups never pass through us.
- The website has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies. It sets one cookie, and only when you choose a language.
- Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes the technical data every website needs to answer a request.
The Tenax software¶
Tenax (the operator, the console and the tenax CLI) runs in your Kubernetes cluster and on your computers. Your
databases, backups, encryption keys, credentials, audit log and any personal data inside your databases stay in your
cluster and in the object storage you configure. We do not receive, host or have access to any of it, and the
software contains no telemetry or "phone home" function.
The software connects only to the systems you configure: your Kubernetes API, your databases, your S3-compatible storage and, if you enable it, your Cloudflare account. When you download Tenax, the download is served by GitHub, and installing it with WinGet goes through Microsoft's package service; their own privacy policies apply.
Because Tenax processes your data on your infrastructure, you are the controller of that data, and Tenax is a tool you operate. We are not your processor.
The website¶
Server logs. tenax.run is served by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site against abuse, Cloudflare processes the IP address, request URL, time, browser user agent and similar technical data of each request, and keeps short-term logs that we can read to diagnose errors. We do not combine this data with other data, use it to identify you, or share it, except as the law requires. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Cookies. If you choose a language in the language menu, the site stores your choice in a cookie named
tenax_lang for one year, so it can show the same language next time. It holds only the language code. It is set
only when you choose a language, is strictly necessary for that feature, and is never used for tracking. Without it,
the site picks a language from your browser's settings. The documentation may store your theme (light or dark) and
similar preferences in your browser's local storage; that data never leaves your browser.
No third parties. The website loads its fonts, images and videos from tenax.run itself. It embeds no analytics, advertising, social media widgets or third-party scripts.
Links. The site links to GitHub, Cloudflare and other services. Their own policies apply when you visit them.
Legal bases¶
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we process website request data on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and set the language cookie because you asked for that feature. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for profiling or automated decisions.
Retention¶
Request logs are kept by Cloudflare for a short period (days, not months) and then deleted. The language cookie expires after one year, or when you delete it in your browser.
Your rights¶
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, to object
to or restrict its processing, to data portability, and to complain to your data protection authority. Since we keep
almost nothing about visitors, the simplest step is to delete the tenax_lang cookie in your browser. For anything
else, write to hello@tenax.run.
Children¶
Tenax and its website are made for software professionals and are not directed at children.
Changes¶
We will update this page when what we process changes, and change the date at the top. Material changes are noted in the release notes.
